Why international patients choose India for allergy care
Allergy tests and immunotherapy are costly or have long waiting lists in many countries. India offers experienced allergists, modern labs and a clear diagnosis in one short trip.
Testing in one visit
Skin and blood tests plus a specialist plan are often done in a short stay.
Often 60–80% less
Compared with typical USA and UK prices for similar tests and treatment.
Chest, skin and ENT teams
Asthma, eczema and nose allergy can be reviewed together.

What triggers your reactions?
Select a trigger to see typical reactions, tests and what helps.
Pollen and hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
The nose and eyes react to pollen from trees, grasses and weeds. Pollen seasons vary by region, and in North India they are often high in spring and autumn.
Dust mites, mold and pets
Indoor allergens cause year-round symptoms and are a common trigger of allergic asthma.
Food allergy
The immune system reacts to foods such as nuts, milk, egg, wheat, fish or shellfish. A positive test alone does not prove allergy, so a specialist reads it with your history.
Medicine allergy
Many people carry a “penicillin allergy” label that turns out to be wrong. Testing can remove the label and open safer, cheaper antibiotic choices.
Eczema, chronic hives and swelling
Itchy skin and recurring hives or swelling can be allergic or immune-related, and need a careful search for the cause. See Dermatology.
Insect stings and severe reactions
Anaphylaxis is a rapid, serious allergic reaction. After one, specialists find the trigger and build a safety plan.
Allergy immunotherapy: training the body to tolerate allergens
Immunotherapy gives small, rising doses of an allergen to reduce reactions over time. It is used for pollen, dust mite and venom allergy, and treatment usually lasts three to five years.
Injections (SCIT)
Given in a clinic, weekly at first and then monthly. Suits many allergens, including venom.
Under-tongue (SLIT)
Tablets or drops taken daily at home. Some patients can continue this with their own doctor’s guidance after the first doses.
Immune system checks
Immunologists look for the cause when infections come back again and again, or when the immune system seems overactive.
Repeated infections
Blood tests for antibodies and immune cells in children and adults.
Primary immunodeficiency checks
Looks for inherited weaknesses in immunity, with treatment plans such as immunoglobulin replacement.
Autoimmune screening
When the immune system attacks the body. See Rheumatology & Autoimmune Diseases.
Children’s allergies
Child-friendly tests and care with pediatric specialists.

Questions patients ask about allergy treatment in India
How is an allergy diagnosed?
An allergist takes your history, then uses skin prick tests, blood IgE tests or a supervised challenge. Test results are always read together with your symptoms.
How much does allergy testing cost in India?
A skin prick test may cost about $50 to $200 and a blood allergy panel about $100 to $350. You receive a written estimate before travel.
Can allergies be cured?
Most allergies cannot be fully cured, but they can be controlled. Immunotherapy can reduce symptoms and medicine use for pollen, dust mite and venom allergy, and some children outgrow food allergies.
Can I start immunotherapy in India and continue at home?
Often yes for under-tongue (SLIT) treatment, with your doctor’s guidance. Injection treatment needs regular clinic visits, so it is easier if a clinic near you can continue it.
Do I need to stop antihistamines before testing?
Usually yes, for several days before skin prick tests. Your allergist tells you which medicines to pause, and we send instructions before you travel.
Can food allergy be confirmed safely?
Yes. A supervised oral food challenge in hospital, with emergency care on hand, is the most reliable test and is done only when it is safe.
Can I fly with a severe allergy?
Yes, with planning. Carry two adrenaline auto-injectors and an action plan, tell the airline about food allergy in advance, and bring safe food.
