2

Mobilize

Sit, stand and transfer safely with support.

3

Relearn

Walking, arm use and speech with repeated practice.

Several therapies each day

Physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy are scheduled daily.

Travelling to India after a stroke or spinal injury

Travel needs a doctor’s clearance and careful planning, and we help with each step.

  • Your doctor must confirm you are medically stable and fit to fly.
  • A medical escort, wheelchair or airline stretcher may be needed for the flight.
  • Ask about blood clot prevention, such as stockings, movement and medicines.
  • Pack catheters, pads, skin-care supplies and medicines for the full stay, with prescriptions.
  • Book accessible rooms, ramps and ground transport with a wheelchair-friendly vehicle.
  • Plan for a caregiver to travel with you, with a medical visa for the attendant.

Questions families ask about neurorehabilitation in India

How long does stroke rehabilitation take?

Recovery is fastest in the first 3 to 6 months but can continue for a year or more. An inpatient program often lasts 3 to 6 weeks, followed by a home plan. The team sets realistic goals after assessing you.

Can someone with a spinal cord injury regain movement?

It depends on the level and completeness of the injury. Rehabilitation improves strength, independence and health, and some people regain movement, especially with incomplete injuries. The doctor explains what is realistic.

How much does neurorehabilitation cost in India?

Inpatient care may cost about $150 to $400 per day, and a four-week stroke program about $4,000 to $8,500. You receive a written estimate before travel.

Is it safe to fly after a stroke?

Often yes once your doctor says you are stable, usually with a medical escort or airline assistance. Share your latest records so the team can advise on timing and precautions.

Can a family member stay with the patient?

Yes. A caregiver can usually stay in the room or nearby, and is trained in transfers, skin care and home exercises. The caregiver needs a medical attendant visa.

What about stem cell therapy for stroke or spinal injury?

Be careful. Most stem cell treatments for these conditions are experimental and are not proven. Ask any provider for published evidence and ethical approval, and discuss it with your own doctor.

Can I continue therapy at home afterwards?

Yes. You leave with an exercise plan for your own therapists, equipment advice and caregiver training, and we arrange video reviews.

How fast can I get an opinion?

Within 24 hours of receiving your records. The opinion is free and carries no obligation.

Stroke signs? Act FAST. Face drooping, arm weakness or speech difficulty means call emergency services immediately, even if it passes. New breathing trouble, a very painful swollen leg or autonomic dysreflexia signs (pounding headache and high blood pressure after spinal injury) also need urgent care now.
