Why international families choose India for child health care
Child specialists, NICU care and long-term follow-up can be costly and slow to access abroad. India offers experienced paediatric teams in child-friendly hospitals at a fraction of the price.

Questions parents ask about paediatric care in India
Can my child be treated in India as an international patient?
Yes. Accredited hospitals treat children from many countries, with paediatric specialists, child-friendly wards and support for the whole family.
How much does paediatric care cost in India?
A paediatrician consultation costs about $25 to $70, a developmental assessment $100 to $300 and NICU care $150 to $600 per day, depending on the hospital and care level. You receive a written estimate before you travel.
Can a newborn or premature baby travel to India?
Sometimes. Very young or sick babies may need medical clearance, and airlines set minimum ages. Premature babies and newborns with breathing problems are usually treated where they are born, and we help you decide between local treatment and a transfer with a medical team.
What is a NICU and what does it do?
A neonatal intensive care unit cares for premature and sick newborns with incubators, breathing support, special feeding, monitors and specialist nurses and doctors.
What vaccines do children need?
Schedules differ by country. Your paediatrician reviews your child’s card and advises on missing or travel vaccines such as typhoid and hepatitis A, with a catch-up plan if needed.
Can you help with developmental delay and autism?
Yes. Teams assess development with hearing, vision and, if needed, genetic or brain tests, and offer speech, occupational and behaviour therapy. Much of the therapy can continue at home with video guidance.
How long should we stay in India?
A consultation and tests take 3 to 7 days. NICU care or complex conditions take longer, and some follow-up continues by video.
Can parents stay in the ward with the child?
Most paediatric wards allow a parent to stay, and some have rooms for parents. NICU and ICU visiting rules depend on the hospital, and we confirm them before you travel.
How fast can I get a paediatrician’s opinion?
Within 24 hours of receiving your child’s records. The opinion is free and carries no obligation.
